Hairy Pussy: Men Overwhelmingly Favour Women with NO Pubic Hair
By Sally Cox
If you’re a woman who never gets a phone call or text message after having sex with a guy, it could be that he wasn’t just using you… he may not like the way you groom your vagina.
I know it sounds extreme, but it does make for a fascinating theory as to why he’s gone quiet on you.
You’ve now got a possible reason, so you can blame it all on your bush hair.
When it comes to your pubic fur and vagina, how much you dare to bare matters, particularly if you’re into men under the age of 40.
The odds are stacked against women who support a natural look ‘down there’, according to some surveys.
Girls with a hairy pussy
The modern male, who might not have an opinion on what you wear, certainly cares about how your pussy looks, and we’re not talking camel toe.
Truth is, when it comes down to pussy preference, hairy is out, and smooth is in.
That’s right, ladies. Hairy vaginas are the ultimate turn off for many men, and recent findings prove it.
In a comprehensive survey of over 2,000 males, aged 20 to 35, men revealed that they are somewhat fussy about the way their partner grooms their lady bits.
Most men, no matter how much they love your mind or physical qualities, are reluctant to compromise when it comes to their woman’s vagina. And, most of them want it naked and fully exposed with nothing to get in the way of their next lickathon.
Here’s how men like their women’s pubic hair:
A massive 48% of males want their female partner’s pussy totally bald
28% of males prefer their partner’s pubic hair to be neatly trimmed
12% opt for a landing strip
And only 6% of men go for a hairy bush
6% couldn’t give a stuff
Of the males who like their woman’s nether region neatly trimmed, they also said that the amount of hair on their partner’s labia could, and may well be a deal breaker… particularly when it comes to giving oral sex.
So ladies, if your pubic hair pokes out of your panties, or is longer than a grain of rice, it’s probably too long for most modern men.
There are without doubt more pros than cons to keeping things less hairy in your land down under, particularly if you live in a hot or moist climate.
Practicalities
Less pubic hair means less sweat, but at the same time, shaving and waxing aren’t the best practice for a happy vagina.
And if you’ve ever been to a waxer, it’s not exactly pain-free. Ouch! Your pubic hair provides a natural layer of defence and keeps your labia from getting a rash. So, if you are one of the many women who have sensitive skin, there might be no choice for you, your pubic hair has o stay.
It seems that women are adapting to what many men want, at the risk of their vaginal health!
A study on pubic hair habits, last year, published by JAMA Dermatology found that 83% of women between the ages of 18 to 65 shave their genital area regularly — a number that is on the rise with women between 18-34.
It’s looking very much like it’s a man’s world after all.
It makes one wonder if the men finding women with a hairy bush are simply unlucky, for the moment at least — sorry, fellas!
The fact is that there really is a stigma about female body hair, and the survey shows that women are preoccupied with being hairless, when compared to women in some other countries who don’t shave their pubes, ever.
The bottom line is, that for women in a new relationship and wonder how to groom their ‘lady-garden’ for a steamy night of hot passion and sex with a new boyfriend — shaving your vagina until it’s completely bald is your best bet.
You don’t have to ask what he likes. Chances are he will fall within the vast majority of men who prefer bald to hairy.
And, if you tell him you forgot to shave just when things start heating up, chances are he’ll be disappointed (to say the least), even if he doesn’t admit it.
But, you will have other things on your mind without thinking about whether or not your pubic hair meets his preference. Pro tip: Do what makes you happy, and most at ease.
How women choose to groom their vaginas (or not as the case may be) should first and foremost be a health decision — not just a means to get or keep a man.
If he doesn’t accept you the way that you are, trust me, there’s someone out there who will, hair and all.
9 WTF Facts about Pubic Hair we Bet You Never Knew
WHOA.
Pubic hair can be a polarising issue for both men and women. Nevertheless, the purpose of pubic hair remains a mystery; despite the fact, most of us spend time trying to figure out what to do about it. While some women keep a “full bush,” others go with a landing strip and some prefer (for whatever reason) elect to have a bald pussy. The truth is, whatever we do with our pubes it is linked to intimacy and beauty preferences.
That said, women may other reasons, too, which might include: feeling cleaner, smoother, and possibly feeling even more sensitive ‘down there’ with less pussy hair! And as time passes, invariably trends and fashion will dictate how women (or men) groom their pubic hair.
So what IS the deal with pubic hair?
For real, we weren’t that sure ourselves so we found out the most WTF facts about pubic hair to satisfy your nosiness.
- Nobody knows for sure why we have pubes.
After millions of years on this planet, no one is quite sure why we have pubic hair. However, most sources agree that pubic hair relates to pheromones. According to sex therapist Sally Cox, pheromones are scents that the body produces to attract a suitable mate partner.
- Pubic hairy help lessen friction that causes skin abrasion.
As well as offering some protection from bacteria.
- Waxing is less painful after a woman’s period.
Hair removal i.e. waxing is less painful the week after a period, according to Sally Cox. A woman is super sensitive in the days leading up to and during her period, but less sensitive (i.e. has a higher pain threshold) in the days that follow.

Here’s a reason to shave your pussy, but ask him to shave his genitals too! A study found that pubic hair is transferred during sex (as if that’s the only thing!).
- The curtains don’t always match the rug.
Pubic hair may vary in colour from the hair on your scalp… why is this? Well, hair colour is determined by our melanin and the amount can range from one part of your body to another!
- In Victorian times, women wore wigs on their vaginas.
Wait. What?
(Yes, it’s true). Back in Victorian times, lots of women shaved their lady bits in order to prevent lice infestations. Many of these women would invest in a Merkin — a pubic hair WIG. Amusingly, to this day, girls in the porn industry wear Merkins too; this is to cover their genitals during intimate scenes. (Modesty in pornography!).
- Sexually active people are more likely to shave their pubes.
Sexually active people are more likely to shave off their pubic hair, says Sally Cox.
- Women will spend thousands of pounds on waxing over their lifetime.
Women who wax will spend a small fortune on pubic hair removal over the course of their lifetimes, says Sally. Ouch!
- A form of age-verification.
How crazy is this? Our early ancestors didn’t run by the same age of consent laws we do. The look of pubic and other body hair was one way of showing how sexually mature you were. “Pubic hair also tends to get thinner when you are past your childbearing years; another way to indicate age and fertility,” according to Sally Cox.
